Rates
I would love to be able to say exactly what my rates are for every conceivable type of project. I wish writing were that simple - but it isn't. I can, however, offer a guideline:
$40 per hour for most projects.
Factors that influence my rate are the scope of the project, how much research is involved, how in-depth you'd like me to be, how much information you can provide, and whether I need to hunt down and hog tie PR people for photos. I tackle all kinds of projects from writing blog posts to researching and writing eBooks and paper-and-ink books. I've even pitched major magazines and television shows for clients who want their work known to the world. I love developing strong working partnerships with repeat customers and often cut them a special deal.
What does that $40/hour buy? More than just well written content. I go to great lengths to ensure information is accurate and that photos are both content-appropriate and legal to use. Representing you and your brand means I cannot make a mistake, and my track record (so far!) is perfect. It's in my nature to try to support your business in every way I can think of. When you hire me, I become part of your team.
I specialize in ghostwriting and creating web content, but I am also happy to write under my own name for your publication. When writing under my byline, my rates vary by what the publication can afford, and whether I can afford to take on lower-paying projects (that are often dear to my heart). My background is in journalism and I love being able to exercise my storytelling skills.
